We Here, We Saved, What Next?

So, I've never read the whole Bible before and it always seemed a little intimidating but I've found that once you meet Jesus, reading God's word is all you will want to do. Once everything becomes real and not just stories you've heard or things you've always considered to be "myths", everything changes. Working my way through the New Testament was definitely more straightforward than the Old Testament. I've tried starting in the Old but gave up because I couldn't find Jesus in the Scriptures. Jesus is the embodiment of God, they are One, and if you don't keep that in mind when reading the Old Testament it becomes so easy to get a distorted view of God and question things you thought you knew the answer to. This is where I went wrong. I had forgotten they are One, consistent, and never changing and because of this, I ended right back to the New Testament to rediscover things I thought I was already confident in. I made my way through the New Testament and felt led to try the Bible from the start again. It's going a lot better (ahaha!) and the only explanation I have for it is that God revealed to me that He and the Son are One. Jesus abides in the Father and the Father abides in Him. Jesus uses those words in the four Gospels. In Hebrews 1:3 ESV Paul says, "He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature". If you're new to Christianity and are curious to know more, first of all that's awesome and I'm so excited for you, and secondly, enjoy Jesus. Get to know Him for who He is. When you seek His face you will see it and it is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Starting in the New Testament is probably the advice you've been given but if not that's where I personally started and would suggest you start so you can see and learn about Jesus in a clearer way. Remember this, the faith you have in believing in Christ is from God's grace (Ephesians 2:8) and keeping it can feel like a battle at times (1 Timothy 6:12) but it will be soo worth it in the end. I'm rooting for you, for whatever walk of life you're in right now but more epically, all of Heaven is too.
